Your Bedtime Prayer 6/19/25: When Your Mind Is Dark & Stormy

“…the peace of God…will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 4:6-7

Evening Devotional

Anxiety thrives in silence and secrecy, but God invites us to bring every worry to Him in prayer. He wants us to talk to Him about every little thing on our minds.

When we do, He replaces panic with peace. He reminds us that he is walking with us each day, so there is no need to fear. God’s very presence brings us tranquility. It’s a calm that doesn’t always make sense, but it wraps around us like armor and shields us from stress.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7

Evening Prayer

As the day turns to night, recite this prayer to share communion with our Lord.

Dear Lord,

Tonight, still my mind and quiet my heart.
I give You my anxieties and receive Your peace.
Help me not to lean on my own understanding but to trust that You are in control.
Calm the storm within me and remind me that You are near, even when my world feels as turbulent as a tornado.
Let Your peace be my resting place tonight.

Amen.
