And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
2 Corinthians 3:18
Devotional Message
You become what you behold—consistently directing your attention toward love gradually transforms you into its reflection. This isn’t striving to change yourself through willpower but allowing transformation to occur naturally as you gaze upon Christ’s glory, absorbing His character simply through sustained attention.
“With unveiled faces” indicates unhindered access to divine presence. Unlike Moses who veiled his face after encountering God’s glory, you can approach without barriers, looking directly at Him without shame or fear. Nothing separates you from beholding Christ—your access is complete, your welcome assured.
“Contemplate the Lord’s glory” suggests sustained, intentional focus rather than quick glances. This contemplation happens through prayer, Scripture, worship and presence-practice—any means of directing your awareness toward God. The more consistently you behold His character, the more thoroughly you absorb what you’re seeing.
“Being transformed into his image” describes ongoing process rather than instant change. You’re not instantly perfected but gradually shaped through sustained exposure to God’s love.
“Which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit” clarifies the source of transformation. This isn’t self-improvement through human effort but divine work accomplished by God’s Spirit within you. Your role is to receive it; the Spirit’s role is transforming. As you consistently direct attention toward Christ, divine presence reshapes you into His likeness.
Let’s Pray
Dear God, help me behold your glory with unveiled face, gazing upon Christ without barriers. Transform me progressively into His image as I contemplate your love. May sustained attention to divine reality reshape my character, not through my striving but through your Spirit’s work within me. Amen.
