Devotional Message

Paul wants you to understand the magnitude of power available to you: “That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead.” Not similar power or comparable power but the same power—identical in nature and strength to what God unleashed when He called Christ from the grave. The resurrection wasn’t minor miracle or moderate demonstration of strength—it was the ultimate display of divine power, death itself conquered, the grave forced to release its prisoner. That same power is at work in you.

“And seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms” continues describing what this power accomplished. Not only raising Christ from death but elevating Him to the position of supreme authority, placing Him above every power and dominion. The same strength that conquered death and exalted Christ to highest place is the power operating in your life. This isn’t power you must achieve or unlock through spiritual techniques—it’s already at work in you through the Spirit who dwells in you.

The contemplative invitation is to stop underestimating what’s available to you. When you feel powerless against addiction, when you think you can’t change ingrained patterns, when circumstances seem impossibly stuck—remember: resurrection power is at work in you. The same strength that raised Christ from death is operating in your life. You’re not drawing on human willpower or natural capacity but on divine power that conquered the ultimate enemy. This doesn’t mean everything becomes easy, but it does mean nothing is impossible. Resurrection power is your inheritance through union with Christ.

Let’s Pray

God, help me grasp that resurrection power—the same mighty strength that raised Christ from the dead—is at work in me. When I feel powerless against patterns I can’t break or circumstances that seem impossible, remind me what’s available through Your Spirit. I’m not limited to human capacity but have access to power that conquered death itself. Work in me today. Amen.
