Your Daily Devotional 3/6/2026: God Keeps You From Getting Trapped

For the Lord will be at your side and will keep your foot from being snared.

Proverbs 3:26

Devotional Message

Solomon offers simple, powerful promise: “For the Lord will be at your side and will keep your foot from being snared.” “At your side” means immediate presence, not distant observation—God positioned close enough to intervene, near enough to protect, present enough to guide. You’re not navigating life alone, trying to avoid traps through your own wisdom while God watches from heaven. He’s at your side, actively involved in protecting you from dangers you might not even see.

“Keep your foot from being snared” addresses specific fear: stepping into trap, getting caught in situation you can’t escape, falling into pattern that ensnares you. Snares are often hidden—you don’t see them until you’re caught. But God at your side sees what you cannot, alerts you to dangers before you step into them, redirects your path away from traps that would capture you. This doesn’t mean you’ll never face difficulty, but it does mean you won’t be caught in snares God doesn’t allow for purposes you can’t yet see.

The contemplative invitation is to trust God’s guidance more than your own perception. When you feel prompted to avoid certain relationship, when unease surfaces about opportunity that seems perfect, when peace is missing from decision everyone says is right—that might be God keeping your foot from being snared. You can’t always see the trap, but He can. He’s at your side not as passive observer but as active protector, steering you away from snares your limited vision cannot detect. Trust His guidance even when you don’t understand why He’s redirecting you.

Let’s Pray

Lord, thank You for being at my side and keeping my foot from being snared. Help me trust Your guidance more than my own perception, especially when You redirect me away from things that seem good but would trap me. Give me sensitivity to Your protection, recognizing when unease or lack of peace is You steering me from hidden danger. Keep me from snares I cannot see. Amen.
