This prayer is for everyone who has loved deeply but hasn’t yet been loved the way they deserve — who has given generously to people who couldn’t meet them halfway, and wondered quietly if that’s just how it goes. It isn’t. Real love exists, it is meant for you, and it is worth asking God for by name. 

God, I’m asking you for love — not the kind I’ve settled for in the past, but the kind you designed for me. The kind that is steady and safe and chosen. The kind that doesn’t cost me my peace or my sense of self. I’ve accepted less than I deserved for too long, and I’m asking you today to close that chapter for good.

Heal every part of me that became comfortable with inconsistency. Uproot every belief that told me I had to shrink or perform or prove myself to be loved. Prepare me for what I’m asking for — because I don’t just want to receive real love, I want to be ready for it. Work in me whatever needs to change so that when it arrives, I can recognize it and receive it fully.

Bring the right person at the right time, in the right way. And until then, let me not fill that space with what isn’t meant for me, God.

Guard my heart from counterfeit love that looks right but isn’t.

Give me the patience to wait for what is real and the wisdom to know the difference when it’s standing in front of me.

I trust your timing, God. And I trust that the love you have for me sets the standard for every love I allow into my life.
