May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Romans 15:13
The joy and peace we seek does not come from anything external—it is a byproduct of our deep trust in God. Yet we often seek external influences for comfort, rather than returning to God as our source. When we focus our energy on trusting Him, the hope we develop, not by sight but by faith, becomes the channel to receive His greatest blessings. Because when we focus on God—the source of hope—we are grounded in the origin and sustainer of this deep feeling of expectation and desire for certain things to happen. It is within that space where the Holy Spirit empowers hope beyond our human capacity, answering our prayers when we need it most.
The goal God has for each of us isn’t just personal fulfillment, but to overflow with abundant joy and peace so that we can share it with and benefit others. In our daily challenges—whether facing uncertainty at work, tension in relationships, health concerns, or simply the weight of routine stresses—this hope transforms how we navigate difficulties.
Instead of being overwhelmed by circumstances, we can approach each obstacle with the confidence that comes from trusting a God who specializes in renewal and restoration. When we see that hope is both the beginning and the result of faith, we realize it is not only a gift received but also a practice we can cultivate each and every day, allowing the light of hope to illuminate even our darkest moments.
