When we start questioning who we are or feeling uncertain about who we are becoming, it can feel unsettling and confusing. Knowing that God has already called us His and holds our identity securely in Him can gently remind us that we are not defined by changing seasons or other people’s opinions. Take a moment to pray with me.

Dear God,

Thank you for being my creator and my redeemer. Thank you that you have formed me with intentional design and summoned me by name. Knowing that I am protected and nurtured by you at all times allows me to feel more at peace and at ease in this world.

But sometimes, I struggle with my identity and fear who I was, who I am, and who I am becoming. In those moments of doubt, help me hear your voice declaring, ‘You are mine,’ and help me live in the security of belonging to you. Enable me to experience your presence throughout all seasons of my life, especially the difficult ones. Rather than finding my identity in changing circumstances or by what others think of me, help me find my true self in your claim on my life.
