A Prayer To Start The Week With God

There’s something about beginning the week with God that quietly changes how the rest of it unfolds. Not because everything suddenly goes smoothly, but because you stop trying to face it alone. You stop reacting and start moving with intention. You stop measuring the week by what you got done and start measuring it by how closely you stayed connected to him. Before the noise gets loud — before the pressure builds, before the to-do list takes over, bring it all to him first. Ask him to go before you. Ask him to order your steps. Ask him to protect your peace and guard your mind. The week will still bring what it brings. But you won’t be walking into it alone.

God,

As this week begins, I don’t want to rush into it without you. I don’t want to let the noise, the pressure, the to-do list take over before I’ve even spent a moment with you. So before the week gets loud, I’m bringing it all to you first.

I don’t know what this week holds. I don’t know what challenges are coming, what conversations I’ll need to have, what emotions I’ll need to navigate. But I know I don’t want to face any of it without you. So l’m asking you to go before me. Prepare my heart for what’s ahead. Give me wisdom for decisions I’ll need to make.

Give me grace for people I’ll encounter. Give me strength for moments that will test me.

God, order my steps this week. Protect my peace. Guard my mind. Help me prioritize what matters and release what doesn’t. Let me move through this week with intention, not just reaction. And when things don’t go as planned, because they won’t, remind me that you’re still in control.

I’m starting this week with you, God. Lead me through it.

Amen.
