A Conversation In Heaven About The One Who Finally Became Their Own Safe Place

This is for the one who has been quietly doing the work — the kind no one sees. The late nights spent unlearning old patterns, the small moments of choosing themselves, the slow and steady practice of self-compassion. They may not recognize how far they’ve come, but heaven does.

Angel: She’s become a safe place for herself.

God: I’ve been watching it happen.

She’s becoming who I always knew she could be.

– Jacqueline Whitney

Angel: She doesn’t even realize how proud we are.

God: I know. She’s so used to being hard on herself that she can’t recognize how gentle she’s become. She’s still measuring herself by who she used to be, not who she’s become.

Angel: What’s changed?

God: The way she talks to herself when she’s struggling. The way she pauses before reacting now. The way she chooses rest without earning it. The way she lets herself feel without judging the feelings. The way she advocates for herself when she would’ve apologized before.

Angel: It’s been a long road for her.

God: It has. She’s done soul work that nobody saw. She’s had conversations with herself in the dark that healed things she didn’t know were broken. She’s become her own friend in a way she’s been needing for years.

Angel: Should we tell her?

God: She’ll see it when she’s ready. When she catches herself responding to something with kindness she didn’t know she had. When she realizes she didn’t spiral over something that would’ve taken her out a year ago. When she notices that her inner voice sounds different now.

Angel: We’re so proud of her.

God: So am I. She’s becoming who I always knew she could be. And she’s the one she’s been waiting for.
