You don’t have to carry it just because you’ve been carrying it.
God: You can stop carrying this now.
You: I don’t know how.
God: Just set it down. Right where you are.
You: It feels like I’d be giving up.
Your hands will be free. Your shoulders will drop.

God: Setting it down isn’t giving up. It’s letting me take a turn. You’ve been holding it for so long that you can’t tell the difference between carrying it and being it. That weight isn’t who you are. It’s just what you’ve been holding.
You: What if I need it?
God: You don’t. You’ve been telling yourself a story about why you have to keep gripping it. That if you put it down, something bad will happen. That holding it is the only thing keeping you safe. None of that is true.

You: What happens when I let it go?
God: Your hands will be free. Your shoulders will drop. You’ll be able to receive what I’ve been trying to give you. The thing you’ve been gripping has been blocking what I have for you.
You: Okay. I’ll try.
God: Good. Just hand it to me. I’ll carry it from here.
