You Were Never Meant To Carry Your Future, God Already Is

You were never meant to carry your future on your shoulders. That’s God’s job.

New Voicemail from God — 1:33 AM

“Your future is not in danger.

I know you’ve been worrying. You’ve been looking at the things that haven’t happened yet and using them as evidence that something is wrong. You keep wondering whether you’re falling behind, whether you’ve missed an opportunity, or whether life is somehow passing you by while you’re still trying to figure things out.

You do not need to carry your future on your shoulders. I already am.

– Jacqueline Whitney

But your future is not hanging by a thread. It is not dependent on your ability to perfectly predict every next step. It is not dependent on getting every decision right, and it is certainly not dependent on how anxious you are about it.

You keep treating your future like something fragile. I do not.

I see the whole picture. I see the doors that have not opened yet, the people you have not met yet, and the prayers that are still making their way toward you.

You do not need to carry your future on your shoulders. I already am.

So rest tonight. Tomorrow does not need you to solve it before it arrives.”
