Some burdens feel heaviest in the quiet of the night, when worries grow louder and peace seems out of reach. This heartfelt prayer is a reminder to surrender those anxieties to God, trusting that He is already at work in every situation beyond our control.
God,
I’ve been losing sleep over things you’ve already got covered. Lying awake replaying situations I can’t change, worrying about outcomes I can’t control, trying to solve problems that were never mine to fix in the first place.
You’re already handling what’s been keeping me up at night. You were handling it before I started worrying about it. And yet I keep picking it back up, turning it over in my mind, as if my anxiety is somehow helping the situation.
Give me the kind of trust that lets me actually rest. Not just physically, but the kind of mental peace that quiets what won’t stop running. Help me release what I’ve been gripping so tightly and trust that your hands are on it even while I sleep.
What’s keeping me up at night isn’t bigger than you.
Let me rest in that truth.
Amen.
