There is a different kind of faith required to trust God with what leaves. You won’t always understand the removal while it’s happening, but you can trust that he knows what cannot follow you into the life he’s leading you toward.
God,
There are things I’ve been holding onto that I know aren’t right for me. Relationships that have run their course. Habits that have been quietly draining me. Opportunities I’ve been forcing that were never really mine. Versions of my life l’ve been clinging to out of fear of what letting go actually means.
I’m asking you to remove what isn’t right for me — even the things I still want, even the things that feel familiar, even the things I’ve convinced myself I can’t live without. If it’s not aligned with where you’re taking me, take it. If it’s been keeping me stuck in a season I was supposed to leave, clear it. If it’s been costing me more than it’s giving me, remove it before I talk myself into holding on again.
Help me trust what leaves as much as I trust what stays. Help me believe that what you take is always making room for something better. And give me the peace to stop reaching back for what you’ve already moved out of my path.
I trust you with the removing, God. Even when it’s hard.
Amen.
