When we keep holding on to old mistakes, unhealthy patterns, or outdated beliefs about ourselves, it can be difficult to embrace who God is calling us to become. The beautiful truth is that our identity is no longer defined by our past but by Christ’s love and grace. Pause and pray this with me.

Dear God,

Help me live from my new identity in Christ rather than my old self. I strive to grow in understanding what it means that Christ lives in me, so offer me wisdom today to recognize when I’m operating from my limited human strength versus relying on Christ’s life within me.

I trust that His love and sacrifice are the foundation of my identity, so help me strip away any old beliefs or stories that prevent me from operating from that place. Guide me in transforming my motivations from duty to love and gratitude, and teach me how to be graceful as I live out this truth, even when I don’t feel spiritually mature.

As I move through my day, give me opportunities to truly lead with love—so that I can experience the joy of knowing my life has eternal significance through Christ.
