Mid-January is where the excitement of the new year meets the reality of being human. It’s where our good intentions brush up against old habits, where hope and exhaustion can exist in the same breath. And yet, even here, God is working.
If this month has already felt heavier than you expected, you’re not failing — you’re adjusting. You’re learning how to carry things differently. You’re learning where to place your trust. You’re learning, slowly and honestly, how to move through life with God instead of trying to outrun it all on your own.
God,
As I stand in the middle of this month, I pause to thank you for how far you’ve already carried me. These first few weeks have held their own mix of hope and heaviness, and you’ve met me in all of it – in the moments I felt strong, and in the moments I felt unsure.
Today, I place the rest of this month in your hands. Steady my heart where it feels restless. Strengthen me where I feel worn down. Give me the wisdom to know what to release, the courage to continue what you’ve asked of me, and the clarity to recognize where you are gently redirecting my steps.
If I have been moving too fast, slow me down. If I have been holding back out of fear, remind me that I am not walking alone. If I have been carrying what wasn’t meant for me, help me set it down.
Cover my home with peace, my mind with discernment, and my days with purpose. Let the rest of this month unfold with grace, and with a deeper trust that you are guiding me even when I cannot see the full path.
I give you this moment, this month, and everything that comes with it.
Amen.
