The peace God offers isn’t the absence of uncertainty. It’s the confidence that, no matter what tomorrow brings, you’ll never have to face it without him.
God,
I’ve tried to find peace in other places. In having the right answers, in controlling the outcome, in keeping everything around me stable enough that I don’t have to feel the uncertainty underneath. But none of it lasts. The moment something shifts, the peace disappears with it.
I don’t want that kind of peace anymore. I want yours. The kind that doesn’t depend on my circumstances being perfect. The kind that holds even when the situation doesn’t resolve the way I hoped. The kind that makes no logical sense given what I’m walking through but somehow anchors me anyway.
God, give me peace that outlasts my problems. Peace that stays when the answer doesn’t come. Peace that holds when the situation gets worse before it gets better. Peace that isn’t shaken by what I can’t control because it’s rooted in who you are, not what’s happening around me.
I’m done chasing peace in places that can’t sustain it.
I’m asking for yours.
Amen.
