A Prayer For When You’re Doing Life Completely Alone

If you’re doing life alone right now, please don’t let this season convince you that you are forgotten. You are still deeply seen. You are still deeply loved. There are people you haven’t met yet who will know how to show up for you, sit beside you, celebrate with you, and make life feel a little less heavy to carry. This will not always be your reality. Until then, God sees every moment nobody else does, and he is closer than the loneliness wants you to believe.

God,

Nobody sees how alone I actually am. On the outside it might look fine, but behind closed doors, I’m doing all of this by myself. Every hard decision. Every scary moment. Every celebration that comes and goes without anyone to share it with. Every night that ends in silence when I wish it wouldn’t.

I’m tired, God. Not just physically, but the kind of tired that comes from carrying everything alone for so long that you’ve forgotten what it feels like to have someone in your corner. The kind that comes from always being the strong one because there’s nobody else to be strong for you. The kind that comes from needing someone and having nowhere to turn.

Meet me in this. Send me the people I’ve been praying for — the ones who will actually stay, who will actually show up, who will make me feel less like I’m navigating this life completely on my own. And while I wait for them, be the presence that makes the alone feel less unbearable.

I wasn’t created to do this alone, God. And I’m asking you to remind me of that by sending me people who prove it.

Amen.
