A Prayer That Protects You From What Isn’t Sent By Jesus

This prayer isn’t just about protection from obvious harm — it’s about discernment for the subtle things. The relationships that feel good but lack peace. The opportunities that sound promising but pull you off course. The voices that sound wise but aren’t rooted in truth. The doors that look open but lead you further from your purpose. It’s asking God to guard you from what you can’t see coming, from what’s wrapped in good intentions but carries the wrong spirit, from what almost had you convinced until he intervened.

Sometimes the enemy comes disguised as exactly what you’ve been praying for. And if you’re not covered, if you’re not discerning, if you’re not asking God to filter what reaches you — you’ll let in what was never meant to stay. So pray this today. Ask God to protect you not just from what’s obviously wrong, but from what’s almost right. From what looks like him but isn’t. From what feels like love but depletes you. From what seems like provision but costs you your peace.

God,

Place a shield around my spirit. Let anything that is not from you lose its power to influence me. Guard my mind from confusion, my heart from false love, and my journey from paths that look good but lead me away from your purpose.

If something is not aligned with your will, let it fall away before it reaches me. Close the doors that would distract me. Quiet the voices that do not speak truth. Expose intentions that are hidden, and give me the clarity to recognize what is masked before it gets close.

Strengthen my discernment so I can tell the difference between opportunity and temptation, between connection and attachment, between what feels right and what is right.

And God, draw me towards what carries your character — your peace, your patience, your honesty, your humility, and the kind of love that reflects your heart. Surround me with people who bring me closer to you, not further away. Keep me covered as I walk forward. Keep me aligned as I grow. Keep me protected from anything that was never meant to root in my story.

Amen.
