Maybe peace begins when you stop asking God to bless the path you chose and become willing to follow the one he keeps showing you.
God,
I’ve been leading myself for too long. Making decisions out of fear instead of faith. Forcing timelines that aren’t mine to force. Trying to control outcomes that were never in my hands to begin with.
So today I’m stepping back. I’m finally ready to let you take over. I’m letting go of the plans I’ve been trying to force because I was too scared to trust you with them. I’m letting go of the outcomes I’ve been managing instead of surrendering.
Lead me, God. Not where I think I should go, but where you know I need to be. Open the doors I would have missed and close the ones I would’ve walked through out of impatience. Let your wisdom replace my impatience and your peace replace my anxiety.
I don’t want to keep running ahead of you. I want to walk with you — at your pace, in your direction, trusting that where you’re guiding me is better than anywhere I could take myself.
Lead me, God. I am finally ready to follow.
Amen.
