A Prayer To Let God Remove What Isn’t Right For You

Not everything that leaves is a loss. Not everything that ends is a punishment. Some things are taken away because they cannot come with you where you’re going.

God,

There are things in my life I’ve held onto longer than I should have. They felt familiar. I kept hoping they would change. Letting go felt harder than staying.

But today, I’m asking you to take what isn’t meant for me. Even if it’s uncomfortable, even if I don’t fully understand it yet, even if part of me still wants to hold on.

If something in my life isn’t aligned with where you’re leading me, remove it. If something is keeping me stuck or pulling me away from what’s right, take it out of my path.

Help me trust your hand in what leaves. Help me not chase after what you are trying to clear away. Give me the strength to release it and the peace to accept that not everything I wanted was meant to stay.

And in the space that follows, meet me there. Fill what feels empty with something steady, something right, something that reflects the life you are leading me into.

I trust you, even in the removing, God.

Amen.
