Whatever is keeping you up at night — God is already handling it. He was handling it before you started worrying and he will still be handling it after you’ve exhausted yourself trying to figure it out. Give yourself permission to rest.
God,
This isn’t what I prayed for. The answer came differently than I expected. The path looks nothing like what I imagined. The life I’m living right now is not the one I mapped out when I brought my prayers to you. And I won’t pretend that’s easy to accept.
I asked for one thing and got another. I prayed for a specific outcome and watched something completely different unfold. And somewhere in the gap between what I asked for and what actually happened, my trust in you has been tested in ways I didn’t expect.
Help me trust that your plan is better than my prayer. Help me believe that what you gave me, even when it looks nothing like what I asked for, is more aligned with where I’m going than what I had in mind. That your perspective is bigger than mine. That you can see the full picture when I only see the chapter I’m in.
God, I don’t want to spend my life grieving the answer I didn’t get when you’ve given me something better than I knew to ask for. Open my eyes to what you’re doing. Help me trust the plan even when I don’t recognize it as the answer to my prayer.
