I don’t know who needs to hear this today, but: Take the pressure off. If your life doesn’t look the way you thought it would by this age or this stage, please don’t mistake a detour for a dead end. God is often doing his deepest work in the seasons that feel the most stagnant. You aren’t late. You aren’t failing. You are being prepared for a story that is far better than the one you tried to write for yourself. 

Stop apologizing for not being “there” yet.

We build these timelines in our heads — when we should be married, when the house should be bought, when the healing should be finished, and we feel like failures when the dates pass us by. But God is the author of the scenic route. He knows the shortcuts that would have left you empty and the detours that will actually make you whole.

If your path looks different than you planned, it’s because your destination is different than you imagined. You haven’t missed your window; you are just in a different season. Heaven isn’t comparing your progress to anyone else’s, so why are you?

You are exactly where you need to be to get to where God is taking you. Trust that he walks before you. Trust that you will not miss the blessings that have your name on them.
