God & Man is a website dedicated to faith-based thought, Biblical analysis, prayers, and daily devotionals.
We hope to be a source of solace and optimism to all who visit here.
Our Philosophy
We aim to be a home for beautiful writing and reflection on the most human and most otherworldly questions. Our editorial is guided by five core considerations.
- God & Man is a website dedicated to Judeo-Christian thought.
- Our approach is non-denominational, and we are bound simply by Hebraic and Christian Scripture and the hope of redemption from a higher power.
- For atheists and agnostics, we’re glad you’re here. Before you judge us, we only ask you to consider this: in poetizing a higher power, real hope can emerge. Yes, we believe in science, but we also recognize the truth in what God said to Job: “Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation?”
- If you’re here, we invite you to read, reflect, and even challenge us. Faith does not come from doctrine. As Paul writes, “Faith comes through hearing” (Romans 10:17), and we’re here to hear you.
- May God bless us all.
We look forward to journeying with you, wherever you find yourself along the path of faith.
Editorial/AI Policy
God & Man is a site about profoundly human questions. Why are we here? Where are we going? Where did we come from? As such, we take particular care to ensure that everyone on our site writes from an honest place of faith, and it is strictly against our guidelines to publish content generated solely by artificial intelligence tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude. Here, the human voice speaks.
Company History
God & Man is owned by The Thought & Expression Company, Inc., an independently owned and operated media company based in the United States and widely known for our two flagship brands: Thought Catalog and Thought Catalog Books.
In the spring of 2025, God & Man launched as a faith-based website. Prior to this, God & Man was a photography and creative services agency owned by our company. The agency was named God and Man as a nod to the famous painting of creation by Michelangelo and a more modern nod to Louis Godard and Hiram Mann, who were often attributed as early innovators in the invention of Kodak film, hence the saying that photography was invented by God and Man.
Today the website is solely dedicated to being a faith-based platform, but in the spirit of our former existence, we hope to bring Judeo-Christian thought to life not only through language, but also through cutting-edge photography and other top-notch visual design. The writing style and impetus of our content library owes much to two former Thought Catalog staff writers—Rania Naim and Marisa Donnelly—who, in the mid-2010s, authored many of the articles that served as the genesis of this website.
