You keep trying to earn what was never meant to be earned. The approval. The love. The sense that you are finally enough. So you perform, you prove, you exhaust yourself — hoping it will quiet the doubt.
But God’s love doesn’t operate on conditions you have to meet. You are not chosen because you got everything right. You are chosen because He decided you were, long before you ever questioned it.
What you’re searching for in people was already given to you without effort. You don’t have to strive for it — you only have to return to it.
God: Stop trying so hard
You: For what?
God: For me. For my love. For my approval. For your worth. You keep performing like you have to earn what’s already yours.
You: I don’t feel chosen
God: Because you’re measuring being chosen by whether people choose you. But I already chose you. Before you were born. Before you did anything right or wrong. I chose you.
You: Then why does it feel conditional?
God: Because you’re projecting human love onto me. People’s love is conditional. Mine isn’t. You can’t lose what you never had to earn.
You: I’m scared I’m not enough
God: You’re enough because I say you are. Not because you live perfectly. Not because you never mess up. Because you’re mine. And what’s mine is enough.
You: Okay, I trust you God.
God: I love you. Stop looking for validation from people who can’t give you what I already have. You’re already chosen. Anchor yourself in that.
