He said to her, ‘Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.’

When a woman with bleeding for 12 years touched Jesus’s cloak in a crowd, after years of suffering with her health, finances, and social isolation, it was solely her faith that led to her freedom. She believed that simply touching Jesus’s garment would heal her, and so it did. This demonstrates the power of faith to move Jesus’s heart and activate His healing power—where her personal belief and trust in Him was the instrument of her healing. And Jesus calling this woman “daughter” is proof of the intimacy and acceptance we receive from Him, not simply as human beings but as family members related by blood.
In order to receive miracles such as this, whether regarding our own health challenges, financial burdens, or relationship dynamics, we must first deepen our faith to believe Jesus has the power to fulfill that miracle. Not that we do, but that He can. It is our personal trust and certainty, beyond what’s visible to the eye and all logic that may say otherwise, that we find ourselves receiving blessings in unimaginable ways. But rather than focusing on deepening our faith and certainty, we seek temporary relief whether through settling for mediocre relationships, numbing our pain with distractions, or placing our hope in worldly solutions, never quite reaching the level of freedom from our suffering that He has promised us.
The power of our faith is that it transcends any obstacles, circumstances, or setbacks. It is a quiet voice inside our hearts that whispers, ‘We are safe, we are being guided, we are healing.’ And just like Jesus stopped in the middle of a crowd to offer this woman the freedom she deserved, He, too, will stop for you even in the midst of urgent situations. The completeness of healing that He offers is not just physical, but emotional, spiritual, and mental. From that moment on, we can rest in peace—exhaling the suffering we experienced and receiving the miracle that was always destined for us.
