It’s easy to get lost in trying to make something work against all odds. It’s easy to feel like you need to fight to make certain things happen, especially in the name of love, passion or commitment. You’re doing everything you can and yet things aren’t aligning. You keep trying different ways and changing your beliefs and yet it feels like you’re still going nowhere. You’re not even close. It’s easy to keep questioning your capabilities and feel like you’re a failure and can’t get what you want in life, but you never truly stop and question that maybe it’s not working out because it’s not God’s plan for you. Maybe it’s not working out because God wants you to look elsewhere. Maybe it’s not working out because it’s simply not meant to be.
God gives us clear signals that we choose to ignore because they don’t align with what we hoped for. He closes certain doors and we keep trying to look for the lock. If we’re constantly trying to fight for a job, or a person or a dream and things never seem to flow smoothly, then this is our sign that this is not intended for us. Because the things that are meant for us, somehow find us effortlessly, and even with some bumps in the road, it feels like we’re still heading in the right direction. The road isn’t blocked. There are no U-turns. Maybe some resistance, some challenges and some difficulties, but somehow, we find a way to navigate them. It doesn’t feel like a constant battle we’re losing.
We often question things that come easily because we’re programmed to believe that struggle is a part of success, that the harder we work for something, the greater the reward will be but this is why we unintentionally hurt ourselves or end up feeling disappointed when the things we invested in don’t work out or when the effort we put into something, goes to waste. But maybe what’s meant for us doesn’t have to be forced, they come with clarity, not confusion. They don’t feel like a race we can’t figure out how to win. Maybe what’s meant for us should feel more like peace, not pressure and should make us feel at ease, not trigger our anxiety.
If it feels like a constant struggle, a constant chase, a constant block, then it’s not part of God’s plan for us, because even though it’s hard to believe that the answer is clear and simple, it usually is; God won’t make you chase what’s already written for you and it won’t go to someone else if it belongs to you. Sometimes the constant struggle is a sign from God that it’s time to surrender.
