The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him.

Lamentations 3:25

There is a balance between actively seeking God and waiting patiently for Him to answer our prayers. But there is a divine role in each, where His goodness is actively directed toward those who place their hope in Him. It is primarily in seasons of waiting where we discover God’s truest goodness—He rewards us in supernatural ways, offering divine guidance, heavenly protection, and spiritual strength during the journey of fulfilling our greatest hopes and dreams.

When we actively seek God in our daily life—through prayer, meditation, worship, and reading His Word—during those moments of what feels like a waiting period, we are slowly yet surely building our spiritual character and deepening our faith in Him. The moment we have a prayer or a hope to be fulfilled, the only way to maintain that faith and divine certainty is to continuously infuse our minds with His presence, love, and Word. Otherwise, the hope diminishes, the faith weakens, and the certainty falls away. To fill the void that impatience causes, we can actually use those seasons of stillness and quietude to further build our spiritual strength, holy fortitude, and divine vessel, so that when the moment comes to receive our blessings, we are spiritually ready to receive it and carry it forward.

Seeking God implies an ongoing spiritual relationship. Just like how we are in constant communication with our friends and loved ones in order to maintain a healthy relationship, we must commune with God the same way, if not prioritize Him even more. It’s not just a one-time prayer, a one-time Sunday service, or a one-time passage reading. It is a daily spiritual practice, where in the waiting period, we come to realize—we’re actually not wasting our time or waiting for anything, we’re actually deepening our faith which is the foundation of everything else we ever need.
