New Voicemail From God At 11:59 PM

Not everything that helped you survive this season is meant to come with you into the next one. Sometimes the most faithful thing you can do before a new month begins is leave your heaviest burdens with God and trust him to carry what you no longer can.

Don’t bring all of that into the new month.

Something different is waiting for you on the other side of the month

Jacqueline Whitney

I know you got used to carrying it. I know it started to feel like it belonged to you. The grief from earlier this year. The conversations that never resolved. The situation you’ve been holding your breath through. The version of yourself who had to harden a little just to get through what you’ve been getting through. You don’t have to take all of it with you into August.

I’m not asking you to pretend everything is okay. I’m not asking you to perform peace you haven’t felt yet. I’m just asking you to leave the heaviest parts here. At the end of this month. With me.

Let me hold what you can’t hold anymore. Let me work on what you’ve exhausted yourself trying to fix. Let me tend to what still needs tending while you finally rest. Walk into August with your hands open. Lighter than you’ve been. Something different is waiting for you on the other side of the month. But you can’t fully receive it while you’re still gripping what May asked you to carry.

Put it down. I’ve got the rest.
