Some closed doors take time to stop grieving. God isn’t asking you to pretend they didn’t matter. He’s gently asking you to trust that what he has ahead is greater than what he protected you from.
God: I saw you standing in front of that door again.
You: I know you closed it.
God: Then why are you still there?
You: Because I thought it was the answer to everything I’d been praying for.
I closed it because I saw what was behind it

God: I know. I saw how much you wanted it. I saw how carefully you built your hope around it. I saw how convinced you were that it was mine to open. And I still had to close it.
You: It hurt.
God: I know. But I didn’t close it to hurt you. I closed it because I saw what was behind it. And what was behind it would have slowly cost you the version of yourself you’re finally becoming.

You: I don’t know how to stop mourning it.
God: You will. When you finally turn around and see what I’ve been opening while you’ve been staring at what I closed. There’s more here for you than you know. But you have to look at me. Not at that door.
