Thank God He Didn’t Let You Settle

You were so close to accepting less than you deserved because waiting was exhausting and the unknown was terrifying.

Thank God he didn’t let you marry the wrong person just because you were tired of being single. Thank God he didn’t let you take that opportunity just because you were desperate for stability.

Thank God he didn’t let you settle for the friendship that was draining you just because you were afraid of being alone. Thank God he loved you enough to disrupt your comfort, to close the doors you were trying to walk through, to remove what you were clinging to.

If he hadn’t shown you grace — you would have settled. You were so close to accepting less than you deserved because waiting was exhausting and the unknown was terrifying. But God said no. He said not this love. Not this life. Not like this.

And it hurt. It felt like rejection. It felt like punishment. But it wasn’t. It was protection. It was God refusing to let you build a life on a foundation that wouldn’t hold. Thank him for not giving you what you would have settled for. Because what God has in store for you doesn’t require you to compromise your hope, or hollow out your heart. It is everything you deserve and didn’t even know to ask for.
