The “Missed Exit” Theory

What is meant for you will not punish you for taking the long way.

Sometimes God lets you pass what you thought you wanted so you don’t end up somewhere you were never meant to stay. In the moment, it can feel disappointing — like you missed your chance or didn’t act fast enough. But not everything that slips by is meant to be chased.

There are paths that look right until you’re standing on them.

There are doors that seem promising until you imagine what opening them would have cost. God sees the full picture — the weight, the sacrifice, the version of yourself you would have had to become to make it work. And sometimes his mercy looks like a quiet redirection instead of a clear yes.

If you’ve been looking back with questions or regret, be gentle with yourself. What is meant for you will not punish you for taking the long way. It will meet you with peace, not pressure. The road you’re on now is not a mistake. It’s still carrying you forward — even if it took a different turn than you expected.
