The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him. It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.
Lamentations 3:25–26
Reflection
You are not behind.
It may feel that way when you measure your life against external timelines your heart never agreed to. When you compare your progress to the highlight reels of others, or when milestones you longed to reach still feel far from meeting you. Yes, the world around you moves fast and praises speed, but the spirit of God is never rushed. He is always on time.
When it comes to your soul, delay does not mean that you are being denied what you desire. Waiting is not the same as being forgotten. What looks like stagnation on the surface is often where God is doing his most tender work. Within it he is shaping your character, he is refining your purpose, he is preparing your vision, and it is important to remember that you are being formed in these hidden spaces. You are being called to something greater.
With God, healing is never linear. Growth is never loud. Becoming who you were created to be will often look like stillness, like rebuilding, like quiet trust in seasons that don’t yet make sense. You are not wasting time, you are learning to walk in step with a God who sees the whole picture, with a God who is leading you somewhere beautiful.
You don’t need to force doors open or perform your way into blessings. Let yourself exhale. The path God has for you only requires for you to surrender. It only requires for you to trust the kingdom he is building around you.
Prayer
God, help me to release my grip on the timelines that were never anchored in me to begin with. When I feel like I am falling behind, remind me that you are never in a hurry. Teach me how to trust the process of becoming. Remind me that what you are preparing for me is worth the patience it takes to receive it. May I learn to walk in peace, knowing that every delay is held within your goodness, within your plan. Amen.
