You were never meant to live tomorrow’s problems today.
- You do not need to rehearse heartbreak before it happens.
- You do not need to predict abandonment before anyone has left.
Survival and safety are not always the same thing.
– Jacqueline Whitney
- You do not need to convince yourself something will fail in order to protect yourself from disappointment.
- You do not need another sign, another opinion, or another hour spent replaying the same conversation.
The version of you that survived difficult things is trying to keep you safe. But survival and safety are not always the same thing.

Sometimes healing looks like trusting that you can handle life as it comes instead of trying to live it all in advance. Sometimes healing looks like putting the question down for the night, and remembering that God is awake even when you finally let yourself, and your mind, rest.
