For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 6:23
Devotional Message
You cannot earn your way into divine love—it’s already yours by birthright. The eternal life Paul speaks of isn’t something you achieve through perfect behavior but something you receive through recognizing your true identity. It’s the shift from trying to deserve love to simply accepting that you are love itself, expressing through human form.
The “death” mentioned here isn’t physical but spiritual—the deadness that comes from believing you’re separate from divine love, that you must prove your worth, that your value depends on performance. This kind of death happens whenever you forget who you truly are and try to find life in external achievements, others’ approval or temporary pleasures.
Eternal life begins the moment you remember your divine nature. It’s not about duration but quality—the abundant, meaningful, love-filled existence that becomes possible when you align with your true identity. This life transcends time because it’s rooted in the timeless reality of divine love that has always been and will always be.
The gift is always available, but you must be willing to receive it. Many people struggle with receiving because they’ve been conditioned to believe love must be earned. Yet divine love operates by different principles—it’s freely given, constantly available and never withdrawn based on your behavior or circumstances. And the proof is how God loves all of us.
This gift changes everything. When you know you’re unconditionally loved, you stop striving and start flowing. When you recognize your inherent worth, you cease performing and begin expressing authentically. From this place of received love, you naturally extend the same gift to others.
Let’s Pray
Dear God, help me receive the gift of eternal life that you freely offer. Free me from trying to earn what you’ve already given and help me rest in your unconditional love. Open my heart to receive your gift fully, so I can live from this divine inheritance and share it with others. Amen.
