You are not abandoned, forgotten or left to navigate life without divine care—God’s promise is presence, the commitment to remain with you regardless of circumstances. “I will not leave you as orphans” speaks directly to the terror of abandonment that haunts human existence. This promise was given before Christ’s physical departure, addressing disciples’ anxiety about losing His presence. Dear God, thank you for promising never to leave me as an orphan. When I feel alone or abandoned, remind me that your presence is real and accessible. Help me live from the security of being your beloved child, never truly alone because you are always with me. Amen.
