Devotional Message
God’s love isn’t measured or rationed—it’s poured out abundantly without restraint or hesitation. The Father doesn’t give you the minimum required or give out affection carefully. Divine love overflows toward you with such abundance that it establishes your very identity as God’s beloved child.
“See what great love” is an invitation to truly behold, to let the reality of divine affection penetrate beyond intellectual understanding into heart-level recognition. This isn’t information to acknowledge but truth to experience, allowing yourself to be stunned by the magnitude of love directed toward you personally.
Being “called children of God” isn’t honorary title or metaphorical language—it’s literal identity. You aren’t trying to become God’s child through spiritual achievement. You already are what He has declared you to be. This identity predates your awareness of it and remains unchanged by your recognition or rejection of it.
“And that is what we are!” emphasizes present reality rather than future possibility. Not “we will be” or “we’re becoming” but “we are”—right now, in this moment, regardless of how you feel or what you’ve done. Your status as God’s beloved child is established fact, not earned position.
This love transforms everything. When you know yourself as God’s child, you stop striving for acceptance already given. When you recognize divine love’s extravagance, you cease performing for affection freely given. From this secure identity, you’re free to love others with the same generosity you’ve received.
Let’s Pray
Dear God, help me truly see and receive the great love you’ve lavished on me. May I live from the secure identity of being your beloved child, not something I’m trying to become but what I already am. Let this truth transform how I see myself and extend love to others. Amen.
