Devotional Message

God issues straightforward invitation: “Call to me and I will answer you.” Not “if you’re worthy enough” or “when you’ve proven yourself” but simply “call to me.” The barrier to calling isn’t on God’s side—He’s ready to answer, waiting to respond, eager to engage. The only requirement is that you actually call, that you reach out rather than assuming the answer or deciding your question doesn’t matter. “I will answer” is promise, not possibility. When you call, God answers.

“And tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know” reveals what God wants to show you through answering. Not just practical solutions to immediate problems but “great and unsearchable things”—truths beyond your current understanding, insights you couldn’t discover through human wisdom, realities that remain hidden unless God reveals them. “You do not know” acknowledges your limited perspective, your inability to see what God sees or understand what He understands. Calling to God gives Him opportunity to tell you what you cannot figure out yourself.

The contemplative invitation is to actually call rather than assuming you already know what God would say or that He’s too busy for your questions. What are you trying to solve through your own wisdom that you should be calling to God about? What mysteries remain unsearchable because you haven’t asked God to reveal them? What great things remain unknown because you’re relying on human understanding instead of divine insight? God promises to answer when you call and to tell you things you do not know. The question is whether you’ll call.

Let’s Pray

God, I call to You, trusting You will answer and tell me great and unsearchable things I do not know. Help me bring my questions rather than assuming I already know what You’d say or trying to solve everything through my own wisdom. Reveal what remains hidden, show me what I cannot discover myself. I’m listening for Your answer. Amen.
