Your Daily Devotional 5/23/2025: Your Weakness Is God’s Invitation

He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.

Isaiah 40:29

Devotional Message

Do you know where God always meets you? Exactly at your point of need. Our limitations are the very places where God works in extraordinary ways—offering us hope, blessings, and spiritual rejuvenation just when we need them the most. Often when we feel depleted and powerless, we assume that this state means we are helpless and hopeless. That nothing will ever change. That we are doomed to remain in this valley forever.

The beauty of our God is that He meets us precisely in our weakness, not despite it. It is within our seasons of suffering and exhaustion that we grow closest to God, simply because we realize that we truly can’t do it all on our own—we need support, we need guidance, we need strength…not from ourselves or from people around us, but from something far greater. We need divine strength—God’s limitless power that never grows tired or weary.

How do we access His power? We acknowledge our weakness. We proclaim our need for Him. We let go of the exhausting effort to generate our own strength and open our hearts to receive it from Him. When we try to be strong in our own power, we limit what God can do. But when we come before Him with empty hands and depleted spirits, saying, ‘Lord, I have nothing left,’ He fills those empty spaces with His strength.

Regardless of the suffering we’re experiencing, no matter how daunting it is, no matter how it feels like we’re at rock bottom with no way out, this is the precise moment where God can work most powerfully in and through us. For when we are weak, then we are strong—not because of our resilience, but because of His renewable, inexhaustible strength flowing through our surrendered lives.

Let’s Pray

Dear God, today I have nothing left. I feel depleted, drained, and weak. I cannot see a way out of the suffering I’m experiencing. I have been relying solely on myself, but now, I acknowledge my weakness and turn to you.

I ask that you meet me at this point of need. Give me your divine strength today—strength to face the day ahead, strength to face myself, and strength to keep going when I feel I cannot take another step. Please keep my heart open so that I can receive your power rather than trying to generate my own. Thank you for understanding my human limitations and for your compassion toward my weakness. I trust that you will renew my spirit and that this moment marks the beginning of a new way of being—one that depends on your strength rather than my own. Amen.
