Devotional Message

When we stand with God—both in character and action, living in accordance with His will, timing, and plan—that righteousness is what produces profound inner peace. The natural result of this state of obedience is wholeness and harmony, where no outward consequence, circumstance, or challenge can disrupt the satisfaction, warmth, and certainty in our hearts.

In moments of chaos and despair, our first inclination is to grip tightly onto whatever we can control. We numb ourselves with more noise, fill our minds with the words of others, and outsource our knowing to friends and family. Rather than entering into a state of stillness where we can hear God’s voice offering immense clarity on our personal lives, we consume the voices of others instead. From then on, our confidence is diminished, our self-trust weakens, and we find ourselves miles away from the only One who knows all, provides all, and gives all. The beauty, however, is that one step towards God brings you right back—not only to His voice but to His eternal nature of peace that flows from Him.

Finding moments of inner quietness is essential to the practice of following God’s way, so we must prioritize stillness above all else. When we tune out the noise of the outer world and tap into the divine within, we remember that our emotional and mental states do not need to be impacted by external chaos. As long as our inner world is calm, loving and content, so will our outer world. And as long as we live righteously, peace will always be the natural fruit of our state of being—not something we ever have to strive for, but something that flows effortlessly from our right relationship with God. This peace, quietness, and confidence are not temporary gifts, but eternal promises that sustain us forever.

Let’s Pray

Dear God, thank you for the abundant peace that comes from me simply standing with you, both in character and in action. Knowing that my peace can never be diminished as long as I am righteous, help me today to grow deeper in your presence.

Allow me to find sacred pockets of stillness and quietness so that I can hear your voice clearly and feel confident in your plan, will, and timing. I no longer want to depend on external circumstances to feel at peace—I want to feel at peace knowing I am held securely by you. Grant me the wisdom to prioritize this inner quietness above all else, and let your eternal peace flow naturally from my righteous relationship with you. Amen.
