Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
Hebrews 4:16
Devotional Message
Each time you pray, do so boldly and confidently, not timidly or fearfully. It is an incredible privilege to be able to approach God’s throne of grace from a level of deep trust—it is all that He seeks from us, to come to Him in moments of need and in moments of deep gratitude—and so each time we seek Him, the courage and willingness to speak from our hearts is always transformative. For after we approach Him, what follows is pure grace, mercy, and help in our time of need.
When we approach God from a place of confidence, we essentially are boldly declaring, ‘God, I trust You. I am here because I trust You will answer, guide, and provide.’ But when we approach Him from a place of fear, we are essentially stating, ‘God, I don’t know if You have enough power to fulfill this prayer. I don’t know if You can do it. I don’t know if I can trust You.’ All it takes is a shift in belief—that whatever you come to God with, whatever you ask for, whatever desire is in your heart—you trust it’s already been heard and will be answered according to His perfect will.
Remember: God’s deepest desire is to help us, not condemn us when we approach Him. He has invited each of us to boldly step forward, for He knows we depend on Him, that it is through Him that we can become the person He created us to be, and that it is through our relationship with Him that we can fulfill the destinies He has planned for us. Today, approach God’s throne of grace—not from fear or limitation, but from trust and confidence, knowing you will receive mercy and find grace to help you in your time of need.
Let’s Pray
Dear God, I am deeply grateful for the privilege to be able to approach Your throne of grace with confidence and that I have You to depend on in times of need. Rather than hiding in fear or shame, I choose to come to You boldly—give me mercy for my failures, shortcomings, and sins, guide me in the right direction and steer me away from people who take me off path, and strengthen my soul to receive the blessings that await. I trust that Your grace will help me during this time of need, and that You desire to help rather than condemn me. Thank You that I can bring my daily struggles, my relationship challenges, my work stress, and my deepest fears to Your throne, knowing You will meet me with mercy and grace. Amen.
