For no matter how many promises God has made, they are ‘Yes’ in Christ. And so through him the ‘Amen’ is spoken by us to the glory of God.
2 Corinthians 1:20
Devotional Message
All of God’s promises are affirmed and guaranteed because of Jesus Christ. There is a reliability and certainty we can count on because of the sacrifice Jesus offered each of us. His resurrection is proof and guarantee that God keeps His word, that His will will be done, that anything He has promised will come to pass. If we have confidence in this truth, then we can boldly claim His divine promises with absolute certainty, even when our circumstances don’t reflect them yet.
Oftentimes, we question whether God will fulfill our deepest desires—whether it’s healing for a loved one, provision for our family, direction in our career, or restoration in our relationships. There is a part of us that doubts the possibility, questions our worthiness, or feels skeptical about God’s power to change our situation. Yet, each time we pray with confidence and say ‘Amen,’ what we are truly expressing is ‘let it be so’—expressing certainty and agreement with His will, timing, and plans. When we say Amen, we are acknowledging that God’s promises will be fulfilled, will be received, and will be done—where the ultimate purpose is to bring glory to God through our lives.
From this state of faith, Christ transforms God’s promises from a ‘maybe’ to ‘yes’—it has already been accomplished in the spiritual realm, and we must faithfully walk forward each day on the path He has laid before us, trusting that His promises will manifest in His perfect timing. Whether you’re waiting for breakthrough in your finances, healing in your body, restoration in your marriage, or direction for your future, you can say ‘Amen’ with confidence, knowing that in Christ, God’s answer is already ‘Yes.’
Let’s Pray
Dear God, as I wait for my breakthrough today, allow me to walk with confidence, knowing that in Christ, You have already said ‘Yes’ to Your promises. Rather than coming to You with doubt or searching for answers, teach me how to maintain deeper certainty over what I cannot see yet. When I’m tempted to worry about my future, help me remember that Your promises are guaranteed through Jesus. I promise that I will praise Your glory through the fulfillment of my deepest desires, and in the meantime, I will faithfully trust You even when my circumstances look different from what I’m praying for. Amen.
