For we live by faith, not by sight.
2 Corinthians 5:7
Devotional Message
There are two ways to live—faith-based or evidence-based—and we have a choice, each day, to live by the visions God has given us rather than the circumstances in our lives. There is a part of you that already knows—the dreams in your heart are from God, the desires you hold are already yours, the visions in your mind are previews of your future. But whenever our reality doesn’t match what God has guaranteed or told us or given to us, we begin to question the validity of it being possible. We begin to doubt, not only ourselves but also God Himself. We then outsource our knowing to other people, asking what they think, what we should believe, or what we should do, and over time, we begin to live by sight and not by faith, causing spiritual turbulence within.
When we live by sight, we actually limit ourselves to our current circumstances and block the immense miracles and light from coming in. We assume that what we see is all there is, and we stop dreaming big, stop praying deeper, and stop believing for more. We live in the physical reality world rather than the higher dimensions of God’s promises. On the contrary, faith allows us to see beyond present limitations towards God’s deepest promises and visions for us.
Whatever your heart knows to be true—whether it’s a dream you seek to fulfill, a relationship you are calling in, a goal you have been working towards—live from a place of faith that it has already been established in God’s timeline for your life. God would not plant a desire or dream in your heart if it wasn’t part of His divine plan for you. While the world may continue to be trapped by their visible realities, you can elevate to seeing this from His eternal perspective. This simple act—to trust in Him, yourself, and the unseen—is the birthing place of all miracles. You no longer limit yourself to what your eyes can see, but rather enter a state of pure faith where God’s promises become your reality.
Let’s Pray
Dear God, help me choose faith over what my eyes can see. I know the desires and dreams You’ve planted in my heart are already part of Your divine plan for me, but each time my reality doesn’t reflect the nature of those dreams, I find myself doubting whether it’s possible. So today, give me strength and patience to trust Your promises even when my reality shows otherwise. Give me wisdom to make decisions from the version of myself who already has fulfilled those desires, and expand my spiritual sight to see beyond current limitations. I know You are doing invisible work in and around me, so give me courage to step forward in faith even when the path isn’t clear or when I can’t see progress. Help me remember that we live by faith, not by sight, and that Your promises are more real than what I can currently see. Amen.
